School, School, and More School!

I have updated my blog in about 2 months! A lot has been going on, and I'm excited to share! It's funny how so much can change in such a short period of time!

For starters, I'm in a Chemistry class that is taking up about...hmm.. ALL OF MY TIME! Everything is just so over my head, but the good news is, the studying has been paying off! I'm also in a Chemistry lab, Psychology, and American History! I'm maintaining a B in Chemistry, which I'm so happy about! I'm hoping to even boost that up to an A by the end of the semester.  I'm doing well in my other classes, too! Psychology has been so fascinating; I've even considered minoring in it.  We'll see ;)  This has probably been the hardest/most stressful semester yet, but I'm so thankful to even have an education! (And parents who pay for it)...I'm unbelievably blessed.

For those who do not know, I'm no longer waitressing! Long story short, it just wasn't the right fit for me. I'm slowly watching my bank account dwindle, which is frustrating, but I know it will all work out! So that means I'm on the job-hunt again. I'm hoping to find a less-stressful job doing office or receptionist work. If someone knows of any place hiring, please let me know :)

I have been so blessed by friends and family, especially lately! Just in the last few months, I have grown in several relationships. I've reconnected with a few old girlfriends & have been challenged by many conversations lately!  Also, I'm really excited about the small group I'm in. The first meeting was last week, and I'm already encouraged by these women.  I can't wait to see what God is going to do!

Josh and I are doing so great! I love that we are growing on a daily basis- together and separate.  God has taught us so much, and I'm thankful for our relationship! We just celebrated his birthday and our 3 year anniversary... Here's some pics:

Flying over Atlanta (Birthday gift for Josh)

Before Wicked (3yr Anniversary gift from Josh)

Dinner I made for Anniversary (Orange chicken and Fried Rice).. It came out GREAT! If you are interested, I will send you the recipe :)

We've had a few really fun dates recently! Once again, I'm so thankful for him!

God has been teaching me a lot lately. I've been thinking hard about what it really means to put God first. It's easy to hang on to the things of this world and worry about things that have yet to come... but all of that gets us nowhere.  When Christ is my sufficiency, that's a peace I wouldn't trade for anything.  Even in the midst of loss or suffering, CHRIST is our sufficiency.  I think of the story of Job.  He lost everything, but was faithful in his suffering.  That's who I want to be.

Well, that's about it for now! Have a good week and weekend everyone... God bless!

New Semester, New Experiences

Hello friends! I'm very excited because this is my first blog entry! I'm eager to share my experiences as I enter yet another semester of college. I've made a few big changes in the past few weeks that I'm excited to share!

Many of you know that I was a nanny for a little over a year. Though it was a great experience, I was ready for a change! I'm now serving at Tuscany Grill in Town Lake! My first day was actually yesterday. So far so good.. The challenge is going to be learning the menu and being able to multi-task. I'm very up for the challenge though! So.. in a few weeks or so (once I get the hang of things), you should come and request me to be your server! ;)

One thing I've been very indecisive about is choosing a major.  I decided to play it safe and pursue business management.  Science isn't exactly my forte, so I eliminated that pretty quickly. However, in the past few weeks, I've been thinking and praying over how my talents can be used for the glory of God.  I've always had a strong interest in nursing but didn't believe I could get through all those science courses! Through praying and encouragement from my family and friends, I decided to change my major to nursing. I have been back and forth, but feel very great about this decision! I love the many options in the nursing field and desire to help others!

Josh and I have now been together for about three years now! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by.. I can honestly say that it's been the best three years of my life.. We've both grown so much together and the Lord has been so good to us! Josh's birthday was this past Saturday and we had a great time celebrating! I'm very excited for what I have planned for us this upcoming Sunday. Pictures to come :)

These are the main updates as of now! I am blessed for the encouraging people in my life. The Lord has been too good to me. All glory to Him.  I wanted to share some thoughts and Scripture before I end..

One thing that I've been struggling with lately is patience.  It feels like I'm in a long period of waiting, and it gets hard to pursue patience & perseverance. When I feel like this, I know that I can always give my hopes and desires to the Lord. How awesome is that? No matter the circumstance, the Lord has us by the hand.

Psa. 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord."

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 "Love is patience, love is kind. I does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Romans 8: 24-25 "We were given this hope when we were saved.  If we already have something, we don't need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don't yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently."

I hope these verses were an encouragement! Have a great day and God bless!
